RED DAWN 12: Hitler, der Heide-Heiland

Hitler: Savior of the White Race, or incompetent bungler? Greg and Vince debate the Fuhrer’s legacy on the Jews, Eastern Europe and Whites the world over. He waged a war against international communism, but millions of our people died as a result. What can the alt-right learn from Hitler?

    11:34 Ukrainian shill confirmed.

Seriously thought, could you provide some sources no the German genocide after the First World War? (I know about the one after the Second, the sources are relatively easy to find and the Federation of Expellees is quite well known.)

The claims about the Hilter’s offers of alliance are true but, looking at it in the light of Intelligenzaktion, A-B Aktion and the like, it is somewhat difficult to believe in his sincerity. (Interesting fact: Auschwitz was first established to “take care” of Polish intelligentsia.) On the other hand, the change in the German-Polish relations was notable, in fact a non-aggression pact was signed in January 1934. Unfortunately PiÅ‚sudski died in 1935 and the rest is history.

As a side note, props for popularising Spengler.

    1. Richard M. Watt’s The Kings Depart is a good general account of the situation in Germany immediately after WWI. Although the Jews never come in for any criticism as a group, one need only note the preponderance of Jewish names in the ranks of the Socialist and radical politicians to get a feel for the ethnic dimension of the political turbulence. As far as genocide, Watt also talks explicitly about the severity of rationing in Germany toward the end of WWI due to the British Blockade (pp. 141-142). The average German adult was down to 1,000 calories a day, mostly turnips and bread. Although, some people no doubt supplemented the official diet with black market purchases.

The Wikipedia article on on the British blockade mentions a couple sources claiming 400-700k German civilian dead as a direct result.

Hitler seems to have been genuine about alliance, or at least coming to an understanding with Britain. He was a bit of an Anglophile. Adam Tooze’s Wages of Destruction talks a good bit about Hitler’s views on Britain, and what role it played in his grand plans. Tooze says (p.9) “It was fundamental to [Hitler’s] strategic conception in the 1920s and early 1930s that he would be able to secure a dominant position for Germany in Europe without coming into conflict with Britain. Indeed, reversing Stresemann’s logic, Hitler believed that Britain would come to view Germany as an ally in the competition that it was bound to face from the United States.”

I don’t know much about Hitler vis-a-vis Poland. I think it’s a stretch to say he wanted to “liberate Poland from the Jews,” although it’s fun to imagine. Maybe he wanted to liberate them in the same sense that Neocons wanted to liberate Iraqis. The thought they cared, but really other goals were more pertinent to their thinking.

      Spengler hooah.

      1. Thank you for the information on the blockade. I knew that Germans had serious problems with supplies – so much that they made tyres out of potatoes (they were not very effective as you might imagine) – but I never found any estimates on the number of people that died. However I was referring specifically to the claim that Poles were killing Germans in a genocide. I know about some incidents after the outbreak of the Second World War, but not before.
Nb. “funny” how economical war, i.e. embargoes and blockades, are not treated as a “real war” even though they are tremendously effective. Economic warfare was one of the reasons why, for example, the Japanese had to attack East Indies.
Nb. II: grouping large number of people together and cutting their food supply (and medical assistance) is an extremely effective way to kill, vide: British concentration camps for Boers.

Percentage of Jews in the socialist movements is acknowledged by the Jews themselves. In absolute numbers there were not that many but they formed a large part of the party leadership.

“I don’t know much about Hitler vis-a-vis Poland. I think it’s a stretch to say he wanted to “liberate Poland from the Jews,” although it’s fun to imagine.”
As mentioned in the podcast, Poles were treated as human filth and killed by thousands “thanks to” the idea German Nordicism. That is why I have doubts about Hitler’s alliance offers to Poland. If anything, Poland was to be liberated from the Poles.
As for the Polish Jews, some Polish politicians proposed to send them to Madagascar, where they could establish their own state. The Polish state itself supported Jewish emigration to Palestine even offering training to Jabotinsky’s Betar.

      1. Not necessarily, but anyways I didn’t mean it in that way. No ill will, just banter.
I’m Polish (if it wasn’t clear already) and I referred to the amicable relations (or rather lack thereof) between Poland and Ukraine. Also, the cooperation between Germany and Ukraine against Poland.
